About Me

Hi!

I’m the founder, writer, designer, & publisher of this site. Basically saying, I run this site 100% independently and all my work is self-published + self-made and has been for the past 4 years. My work doesn’t center around one specific focus and that’s kind of the point of this whole site. That said, there are a few passions I return to more often than others and they tend to shape a lot of what I create. At my core, I’m a writer. I’ve been writing more consistently than anything else I’ve been doing, hence this blog. I used to always write my own books during online school back in 2020 and that morphed into my love for blogging. From there, this whole platform came to life. Over time, I found myself writing most about the things I spend the most time with: film and music. A big reason for that is because I’ve been able to grow up in a community & household that celebrates and empowers both. It took me a long time to figure out which of the two I had more of a calling for because both film & music impact my identity greatly.

Currently, I’m in pursuit of going down a film career because that’s where I see my talents stand out best. I grew up always watching movies and that’s carried on growing older. My parents like to say I’m always glued to the screen and my friends saying that I’m like a walking IMDB. Only around a year or two ago, I decided that was what I wanted to do in the future. My childhood was watching Disney Channel and Cartoon Network and for the longest time, my favorite movie was Descendants. Thanks to DCOMs and my mom, I was able to build an appreciation for a sweet rom-com or chick-flick. Thanks to my dad, I was able to be cultured into a love for superhero films and Christopher Nolan-level high thought cinema. But, by myself, I was able to fall in love with my favorite genre; coming of age. I think maybe 2-3 years ago, I discovered Lady Bird and it led me to my all time favorite films. I’ll always watch anything but Greta Gerwig’s work will always be my favorite. Along with this, I love watching any of Emma Stone’s work, David Fincher classics, and I’ll always go back to my Disney Channel roots.

Film has always been a lens to which I see and interact with the world. But it’s music that’s been able to dictate how I feel. I grew up listening to mainstream pop (with the occasional 80s culturing from my parents). But as I got older, I was able to form my own music taste, which again, is very versatile. My favorite genre is probably indie pop or sad girl music, but I’m a sucker for good production. My all time favorite album is Melodrama by Lorde, which changed my life in the 8th grade, but Good Riddance by Gracie Abrams is a close second. Some of my favorite artists include Lorde, Phoebe Bridgers, Suki Waterhouse, Gracie Abrams, and so many others.
